Umpires using technology

For as long as technology has been around that can influence umpiring descisions so has the debate on whether or not we should use it, or moreso how often we should use it. Wrong descisions can turn test matches and destroy players careers. Yet through we still don't use hawkeye, hotspot, snicko and other peices of technology to influence our descisions. Some say well if we have this technology why don't we use it but I beg to differ. Years have gone by without argument. Only has it been in the last few years that we have developed this technology. Cricket has been played for decades upon decades and only now are we complaining about wrong descisions and why? Because we believe we have the technology to make right descisions. What about the days of Don Bradman and the days of Clive Lloyd, two periods where two different nations were somewhat invincible and why, not because they had dodgy descisions but because they were the best. Today this is the same, generally the team we know is better comes out on top. There is no real reason to use this technology for reasons other than training, development and entertainment. As long as you have an impartial umpire you have a fair game, good competition and great entertainment. We need not get caught up in detail, lets focus on playing cricket.

Kevin Pieterson's left hand attack

Oh the hype, the public, the media all they want to do is critise poor Kevin Pieterson. We can see in our lives how much of a conservative attitude we have adopted to our lives. There is no concievable way that Kevin Pieterson's tactics will in any way change the game of cricket. The problem is that Pieterson is so good at this tactic that people think it is easy. When you have spare time practice batting, turning around and playing a cricket stroke. Try to do that in one seventh of a second, while judging the line and length of the ball and then smashing it for four. We should not try to critisise him. If any batsmen is capable of mastering such a magnificent feat then he should be rewarded. There's no problem here, just a great cricketer.
